September Mood Board

In the second half of September, the weather here on the East Coast has been phenomenal, sunny, with just a hint of Fall felt mostly during our evening walks with Stella the dog. Soon it will be time to gather around our fire pit and make some s’mores, go apple picking and get those costumes ready for Halloween! Pumpkin everything is around us! It has been a busy time: we went back to school (don’t you love the student painted tiles on my son’s elementary school facade below?), celebrated an important birthday, admired amazing mushrooms during a hike, snapped some photos of wonderful architecture and interiors (went to the Georgetown flea market again), had more ice cream and cooked some tasty food – roasted Brussels-sprouts anyone? Stella has grown so much – almost six months old! I hope you’re having a good late September! Mood board below.

At a Baseball Game…finally

20170910_140819.jpgSo after more the two years back in the U.S., I finally made it to a baseball game. Since we live in DC area, it had to be the home team – Nationals. Continue reading

Summer sky is my favorite – especially at dusk or early morning, when the light is amazing. Don’t you love it…Here we go:

Serenity in the Garden of Lotus and Water Lily Flowers

20170716_200357.jpg
A few weeks back, we spent a couple of hours admiring a delicate beauty of these wonderful exotic flowers. We also learned the difference between lotus and water-lily flowers. Did you know that lotus flowers emerge from the water and shoot up so their beautiful crowns stay erect above the water, while water lily flowers (which are more common in US and Europe at least) float on the water surface. I have been meaning to share their exquisiteness with you for some time, so here we go.

A Peek inside the White House

20170708_130334.jpg
With the summer in full swing, it has been busy few weeks for our family. I flew to my hometown Belgrade (Serbia) to take our boys for a month-long visit (will share some snippets from summery Begrad soon; in the mean time, you can read about winter in Belgrade here and here). Upon return, I got an email reminder that our tour of the White House was coming up. I had arranged it few months ago through our Congressman – the only way to do it, as a tourist.
