Open any newspaper, turn on TV and likely you will hear or read a story about migration. Unfortunately, these days, mostly forced migration.
We enjoyed the past few days with cooler temperatures over here in Northern Virginia. It felt nice to sleep with open windows and feel a cooler breeze at night. With leaves turning, still plenty of sunshine, ‘pumpkin everything’ in the kitchen, favorite holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving coming our way, Fall is my favorite season in the US. Going out of the city to Hollin farms in Virginia to pick some apples was a perfect way to transition into the Fall vibe. Continue reading
August came and left kind of quietly. The biggest event of the month for us: having our older son back from his summer adventures in Serbia and Croatia.
How best to introduce this quaint historic town by the ocean: capital of Maryland state, home to the U.S. Naval academy, place to eat the yummy blue crab cake or a quickest gateway from DC that takes you to the water at the Chesapeake Bay?
The other night we had some friends over and I decided to make this delicious, refreshing, summer salad to go with some grilled chicken and hamburgers.
