It has been a busy few weeks. The city got into the holiday spirit: decorations were out, holiday music was on, people rushed to get the shopping done and presents ready, holiday parties galore and restaurants and bars seemed busier then ever.
Yep! Your read it right…Through my “special connections” and just in time for holidays, I have managed to procure a White House recipe for oatmeal cookies. We tested it and liked it. Let’s bake!
One of the side dishes we enjoyed during Thanksgiving, feast for the first time, was braised red cabbage. The dish came out great and was wonderfully paired with turkey and other sides, trying to keep it lighter and healthier.
This month seems all about putting up holiday decorations, admiring all the beautiful lights (guilty! I LOVE string lights!), attending or hosting holiday parties, getting last minute presents for the loved ones, getting that sparkling top or silver shoes, gearing up to say goodbye to 2016 and embracing 2017. Some of us might be traveling (yeah!) or staying at home to have friends or family over…whatever the plans, there is definitely holiday spirit in the air over here.
